Was born in Foggia in 1961 where he started paintingvery early.

He moved to Florence in 1979 where he studiedArchitecture at the State University. Since 1991 he is Professor of Paintingat the State Accademy of Art.

He teached Painting at the State Academies of"Belle Arti" of Lecce, Reggio di Calabria, Firenze.

Besides his many national and international exhibitions(Rome, Florence, Milan, Paris, London, New York) , Gianluca Ciccone hasreceived particular attention from:
 
 

• The Italian Institute in Copenaghen (Copenaghen -1994) where he gave a personal exhibition of thirty among paintings anddrawings.

• The spanish "Palacio de Gaviria" (Madrid - 1993)where he gave a personal exhibition of fitfy among paintings and drawings

• The Italian Institute for Culture (Barcelona - 1996)where he gave a personal exhibition of twenty among paintings and drawings.
• October 1998: Mazzullo Foundation, Palazzo Duchidi Santo Stefano. Taormina. Personal exhibition of twentyfive paintings.

• The Contemporary Art Museum of Rio de Janeiro (Riode Janeiro - 1995) and the "Fundacao Bienal de Sao Paulo". (Sao Paulo -1995) where he exhibited with other artists
