La Fortezza da Basso (Down fortress)




This fortress, is not hereby mentioned as an outstanding piece of art or achitecture, but to remind the reader that at the same time all the wanderful monuments above mentioned were built, the city of Florence also had to defend itself from the assaults of enemies.
