Palazzo Vecchio: "The old Palace"
The ancient portion of "Palazzo Vecchio", the front one,
was built between 1298 and 1314 on a Arnolfo di Cambio project.
The rear portion was built between 1549 and 1598 on "Battista del Tasso"
and "Buontalenti" projects.
Inside, the palace has been completely ristructured by "Cosimo I de' Medici"
when he chose it has his personal residence during the first half of
sixteenth century. Later on, he moved with his family to Palazzo Pitti
and since then it has been called Palazzo Vecchio: the "Old" Palace...
