In the centre of Siena 20 meters from the famous Piazza Del Campo is situated this fabulous restaurant "La Buca di Porsenna".

The name is derived from an Etruscan King of Chiusi who fought the Romans, hence the location evokes antique and mediaeval memories of this period.

The restaurant is three levels, using the existing rooms dug out of clay (tufo) since the middle ages. Wine cellars or secret passages?

The beauty of the red Siena bricks inserted in the clay(tufo) walls creates a magical atmosphere.

In this very particular atmosphere, equipped with modern air and dehumidification system, The restaurant "La Buca Di Porsenna presents to you also an evocative menu, based upon the rich antique style of Tuscany, the best of ingredients used and accompanied with professional, friendly, attentive service.

First course includes gnocchi, pici, tagliatelle, tortelli and all pasta is made by hand in the traditional Tuscan way.The accompanying sauces are also genuinely made the traditional Tuscan method, like the meat ragł, duck ragł and the particular tomato based sauces.

Second course apart from chicken, rabbit, pork and duck they use meat of prime first grade quality (chianina) perhaps the most expensive, but without a doubt the most tastiest that the market has to offer and finally some crustacean and fish dishes of the most popular tradition with the possibility to base your dinner on fish to your style preferred and your personal taste.

At this point the owners of La Buca Porsenna welcome you and wish you "Buon Appetito".
