Piazza dei Pitti

Built in 1485 by the banker Luca Pitti and designed by Brunelleschi, the palace was bought in 1588 by Eleonora di Toledo, Cosimo I's wife, who also ordered the construction of the Boboli garden right behind its huge facade.
